Security plan for Muharram chalked out

KOHAT: Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Kohat Range Muhammad Masood Khan Saturday said that strict security measures would be taken to foil subversive activities during Muharram.

Chairing a meeting to review arrangements for Muharram, the DIG said that search operation would be launched against suspected persons. He asked the police officials to establish a well-coordinated intelligence setup to thwart any untoward incident in Kohat, Hangu and Karak districts.

It was decided that more checkpoints would be established at the entry and exit points of the three districts. It was also decided that the movement of the Afghan nationals would be monitored, and a quick response force would be established to cope with any emergency.

The official at length discussed the arrangement of security for mosques, imambargahs and bazaars in the sensitive districts.
