Kohat DCO bans sale and purchase of property

Source: PakistanToday

PESHAWAR - In a bid to prevent miscreants from entering tribal regions in Kohat, District Coordination Officer (DCO) Shahid Ullah Khan on Saturday banned sale, purchase and renting out of property with immediate effect and directed law enforcement agencies to implement his orders at the earliest.
Shahid Ullah, when contacted by Pakistan Today, said Kohat was surrounded by tribal regions and the administration was aware of certain militants’ plan to take shelter in urban areas. Shahid Ullah Khan said people interested in selling or renting out properties would have to submit the National Identity Card (NIC) of purchaser or occupant in a nearby police station. He said police personnel would confirm status of concerned people from law enforcement agencies of his native agency or town. Through such a procedure, the law enforcement agencies could get access to all militants and wanted personnel from all tribal areas.
Terrorism activities have reduced in tribal regions and certain districts of Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa (KPK) due to continuous military operations.
